I am an artist working in paintand drawing media. I run courses and workshops teaching creative methods for adults and young people. My work is inspired by my love of nature, of colour and drawing. I believe in the fundamental place of art and creativity and its ability to change attitudes and lives which is why I teach. I pull on my experience as an academic researcher working in multiple international contexts, with artists and communities facing environmental, social or economic challenges. I’ve worked in Asia, Africa and Europe, curated exhibitions and coordinated festivals. I believe that,

“The sharing of creative skills and experience can build confidence and enable new, alternative approaches to life. Creating art can bring such joy and an immersion in one’s environment”.

Travel is influential in my work, in my sketchbooks and as inspiration for my drawings and paintings.

“Drawing when travelling has broken down barriers, helped with communication, and been an amazing way of really seeing, and recalling, the detail of where I’ve been. I remember the conversations had with inquisitive onlookers, the light, temperature and anecdotes!”.
