Two options to attend a 3 hour Art Workshop held in Hexham Abbey, Hexham, Northumberland. 10am to 1pm on Monday 2 March and Thursday 19 March 2026.

Hexham Abbey with its incredible architecture, stained glass windows, hidden corners and spectacular arches, is a wonderful place of contrasting light and dark, appealing to an artist to recreate through drawing and painting. Join Niki for one of two, three hour workshops where we will begin in the cafe with an introduction to some techniques and methods of creatively capturing the 'chiaroscuro' effects of the Abbey. We then move into the Abbey itself and spend two hours drawing and sketching. 

Please meet in the Abbey cafe (central room) where a table will be reserved. The Abbey will kindly reserve this table for us so please come prepared to buy a cuppa or some other refreshment to start the workshop.  

Please bring a sketch book, pencils and other drawing equipment and if you want to paint and have a small paint set please bring these with you. I would also recommend you bring warm clothing and either a small cushion of something to sit on as stone can be cold! Please note, refreshments are not included in the cost of the workshop.
